What awaits the fate of Ellie and Abby in The Last of Us season 2?
The rivalry between Ellie and Abby is at the crux of The Last of Us
season 2, which is based on The Last of Us Part II. The second installment picks up five years after the events of season 1, and it reintroduces Ellie and Joel. Although certain scenes were not present in the original video game, episode 2 confirmed that the installment carries forward the story of The Last of Us Part II. It ended with Ellie and other characters bringing Joel’s body to Jackson. If the story follows exactly like the game, Tommy would head out to hunt Abby with Ellie not far behind.
Throughout the game, Ellie claims the lives of many of Abby’s friends when she reaches Seattle. However, when Abby gets the hunch of their plans, she finds Ellie and her friends at an abandoned theatre. While the encounter ends in fatalities, Abby spares Ellie and Dina.

Ellie’s decision leads her to California, where she learns that Abby and Lev’s quest to look for Fireflies ended with Rattlers capturing them. Although Ellie saves both, she puts Abby in a position, forcing them to fight one another. Ellie, at first, loses two fingers, but emerges beneficial in the combat. However, she again let Abby and Lev go, seeing the reflection of her relationship with Joel in the two. By the end of The Last of Us Part II, Ellie and Abby go their separate ways, and if The Last of Us
season 2 mirrors it, they will both survive.
