With potential, yet to be confirmed plans set of further adaptations and development of the franchise based on a novella, there is no shortage of pages to turn or screens to find it on, should one know where to look.
Henry Cavill is definitely a hellraiser, but on Netflix?
While the movie is unfortunately not available for viewing on Netflix, it is hosted by other parties like Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
Other than its unavailability, Henry Cavill’s unprecedented presence in the movie gives the audience a whole new perspective on the forty-one-year-old actor. Having made his name as the poster-face of Man of Steel,
and other machos of likeness (Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher
series), it is a fresh theme to be spotting Cavill sporting a teenage face and an unkempt leather jacket as a young people’s party for a change, also planting one of his first roles in the industry.

The Hellraiser
franchise bases itself off of a puzzle box and how it is used to ensue horrors by the extra-dimensional perpetrators called Cenobites, the most screened and significant of them being Pinhead. Cavill plays one of the six friends, with one having bereaved his family of him. Finding themselves at a party and eventually trapped in separate parts of the houses, the plot follows the horrors that ensue and how the characters tackle them through the premise of the story.

While the 2005 horror flick lays foundations to some of the most gruesome deaths, it can only be imagined what post 2010, even 2020 technological developments could do for the franchise. Wonders; to say the least.

Having laid relatively stagnant for almost seven years before Hellraiser: Judgement
was coughed up in 2018, succeeding Hellraiser: Revelations
in 2011, it took four more years for the creators to jump on to the reboot bandwagon. The 80s horror classic was reimagined for the pre-futuristic world of the 21st century’s twenty-second year, in 2022.
With a new story and a new pinhead out loose, the story does not stray far from Clive Baker’s novella The Hellbound Heart, trying to purely adapt the gruesomely tragic pinnacle of horror word for word.

One of Cavill’s earliest roles in the industry, Hellraiser: Hellworld,
is a showcase for the then-budding actor’s still-developing talent. Released in 2005, the movie had admittedly struggled critically, but did set a path for Cavill’s prowess that would be formed in the near future. This lesser-known entry in the Hellraiser
franchise remains a curiosity for fans eager to explore Cavill’s pre-Superman career.
