“Very unique experience”- Tom Cruise Makes Rare Remarks on Time With Former Wife Nicole Kidman, Recalls Working Together

summer even hotter. The actor who is set to serve a spectacular ending to the
Mission Impossible

franchise happens to be very occupied these days as he
travels around for a promotional spree. But in the middle of this organised chaos, he still spared a few moments to praise his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, with whom he shared a famous marriage and separation. 

Not only the
actor recalled one of their most famous on screen collaboration, but also
praised the actress for her skills recently.

Tom Cruise recently graced the cover of the Sight and Sound Magazine

, where he sat down for a heartfelt interview. During the interview, talking
about his 1999 movie, Eyes Wide Shut

, Cruise recalled working with Nicole
Kidman. He remembered how they worked upon getting the right tone for the film, saying, “It was a very unique experience”

. Other than that, the Top Gun

also revealed that when
he met director Stanley Kubrick to discuss his role, he suggested Kidman play the role of Alice

, as he believed “she’s a great actress.”

Further on the process
of making that movie, Tom Cruise recalled that they did not have a large crew. Cruise shared that they arrived in the summer and just started testing, with
the script as an idea. They were constantly rewriting, shooting,
and reshooting the scenes to find the right tone. And it is not just Cruise, his ex-wife has also said some nice things about this experience in the past.

Kidman, who has been vocal about her relationship with Cruise, also cherishes
this special project and the sweet memories related to it.

During a
2020 interview with the New York Times, Nicole Kidman discussed the dark
tones of the film, Eyes Wide Shut

, and shared that she and Tom Cruise would go-kart
racing after filming those intense scenes. The actress further added that the
couple would “rent out a place and go racing at 3 in the morning.”

As per
Kidman, they loved working with Stanley Kubrick and shot the movie for two years. Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise were married for 11 years. And since their split, the two actors have moved much further in their lives and careers.
