Tinseltown is stitched together by a circle of couture connoisseurs, but when it comes to fashion, it is all in the eyes of the beholder. Take Millie Bobby Brown
, for instance. From red carpet rookie to sartorial shapeshifter, Brown’s closet evolution has sparked more debates and discussions than a front row at Fashion Week. But the real question is: has she made her grand Met Gala debut?
With ensembles that scream runway-ready on the regular, one has to wonder if Brown has taken her rightful place on fashion’s most iconic staircase, or is her Met moment still waiting in the wings?
Has Millie Bobby Brown walked the Met Gala carpet?
Millie Bobby Brown’s fashion lookbooks have always been Pinterest-worthy. But Brown has yet to make her grand entrance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The 2018 edition issued a new age limit, banning A-listers under 18 from the bespoke gala. But now that she is 21, why did she miss this year’s Met? According to ELLE, Brown’s no-show
is likely because of her filming commitments.
Enola Holmes 3,
Brown’s latest project, moved into production last month
. Netflix even shared a behind-the-scenes photo of the Netflix star with co-star Louis Partridge. Last year, the tabloid noted Brown’s absence was because she was away from NYC while filming Stranger
Things
season 5. Although she was eligible to attend the Met Gala in 2023, she perhaps skipped it because she was newly engaged back then.
While Millie Bobby Brown might be waiting for her Met moment, galas like these shaped her dreams of making a brand of her own.
Red carpets and galas inspired Millie Bobby Brown’s Florence by Mills
When Millie Bobby Brown launched Florence by Mills, she did it for a reason. Speaking with ELLE about expanding the brand into a clothing line, the actress shared she was only 10 when Stranger Things
happened. Since the spotlight exposure came with the need to attend high-profile galas and ceremonies, big labels wanted to style her. At the time, she was unaware of her “personal style”;
the only time she would dress up was to go to work, other than those events and premieres.
Brown acknowledged many of her friends had that early sense of fashion. But couture for her was always about fluidity. “I wanted to be able to create something that was accessible to my generation, to my demographic,”
she said. So, Florence by Mills is basically Brown’s lookbook, only accessible to all. While Florence has yet to be a label A-listers wear to the Met steps, considering the ambitious woman Brown is, fans might as well watch out for it at the Met Gala 2026.
