Wu Assassins
follows Kai Jin, a young Chinatown chef in San Francisco, who entwines himself with the Chinese Triad’s pursuit of ancient powers called Wu Xing. Kai confronts a mystical spirit, unwillingly becoming the Wu Assassin, injected with the power of 1,000 monks who martyred together to place their “collective essence”
into an amulet. After absorbing the amulet, Kai uses his martial arts skills to soak up the supernatural abilities of five criminals who threaten to destroy the world.

Netflix and other streaming giants have their fair share
of martial arts-themed and Cobra Kai
-like projects. However, what sets Wu Assassins
apart from the club is its impressive ratings, which stand at a towering 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Netflix series has only one season with 10 episodes, all released on August 8, 2019. John Wirth and Tony Krantz have created Wu Assassins with cinematography by John Bartley.
