Russo Brothers Hit A New Low Right Before Avengers Takeover, Fingers Point at Big Budget Surpassing Oscar Winners

The Russo Brothers have recently had their superhero-making duties put on hold. The reason being their trials and errors with premises falling outside of supernatural sci-fi, as well as creating something that catered to more of their own parental sentiments rather than simply a rash door-dash to success armed with some extraterrestrial-esque action. With The Electric State

being set on its path, there lies the

most important question of whether their vision was carried out.

Despite its ambitious premise, The Electric State

has received a reception that is sitting in stark contradiction and betrayal of its investments

. Critics’ statement reflected its flat, emotional depth-lacking delivery. The film’s Rotten Tomatoes score has been notably low, a total of 10%, marking a career low for the Russo Brothers. While it boasts impressive visuals and a star-studded cast, the result of its whopping $320 million big budget, this underwhelming response contrasts sharply with the anticipation surrounding the Russos’ upcoming Avengers projects.

A good case study can be drawn from the example of the Oscar-winning movie, The Brutalist,

in the name of Adrien Brody. The accoladed piece of cinema had a budget of only $10 million, demonstrating that quality can be achieved regardless of representational extravagance. Leaving The Electric State

struggling in its stead, with the disconnect between and cinematic success, the sci-fi flick is left justifiably trodden due to its lackluster reception.

The audience, being ever-honest, ironically being in light of being unblinded

by the star-studded casting, has been one of the main sources of fuel to the fire of the new movie’s unfavorable reception.

Fans reacted to The Electric State

with disappointment, criticizing its high budget and perceived misinterpretation of the source material, the original novel by Simon Stålenhag. Many felt the film lacked depth and was overly reliant on CGI, contrasting sharply with the book’s melancholic tone.

Despite its star-studded cast, the movie received poor reviews, The Electric State

has left fans underwhelmed and questioning the Russo Brothers’ creative choices.

The audience is divided between whom to hold responsible between cast and the creators for the clutter that this latest release has created in the industry.

The Russo Brothers’ The Electric State

has faced severe criticism, with a dismal 10% Rotten Tomatoes score, creating a landmark career low. Despite its $320 million budget, well-known cast, and even immensely hyped up prep-work

, the film’s lack of emotional depth and overreliance on extra-effects have disappointed fans. The movie’s staggering budget is even more concerning when there could be drawn ample reactions in both present-day and in the history of cinema, where capital did not necessarily guarantee quality.
