Paul Rudd Fuels The Internet’s Most Wicked Fire About Thanos, 6 Years After ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Thanos’ snap was the inevitability that characterized the events of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers: Endgame,

leaving the multiverse without its Iron Guardian. Though the Mad Titan could not win it all, Marvel Studios had to play the multiversal switch to summon every Avenger, culminating in many things lost and found. While many have brainstormed about the alternatives that could have pulled Thanos to the ground otherwise, 6 years after Endgame

, Paul Rudd was found still stuck in the limbo of a what-could-have-been.

Rudd recently reignited the flames of the most bizarre fan theory, convincing them that his ant size is enough to catalyze a Thanos-sized plot twist.

Paul Rudd still wonders if this Ant-Man fan theory could have put an end to Thanos

Thanos was done and dusted in Avengers: Endgame

. But since his introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there had been a chain reaction of fan theories surrounding superheroes who could take down the Mad Titan. One such theory had Paul Rudd starring, and according to a recent ComicBook interview, the Ant-Man still ponders whether Scott Lang could have just shrunk and entered Thanos’ end-zone to explode and call it an Endgame

.

“I often wonder, though, could he really have stopped Thanos in that way?”

Rudd mused. His retrospection stemmed when the tabloid asked him if the “Thanus

” plan could be used to bring down Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday

. Jenna Ortega, his De— of the Unicorn

co-star, was visibly confused, having not been versed with the theory before. However, with Rudd’s explanation, Ortega eventually caught up, though the same cannot be said for her own MCU reign, which had no name or lines to remember.

, will Paul Rudd unveil himself as the Ant-Man in the MCU’s future?

What is the probability of Paul Rudd’s return to the MCU as Ant-Man?

Earlier this month, Paul Rudd walked the red carpet at the 2025 SXSW Film and TV Festival for De— of a Unicorn

. The Hollywood Reporter approached the Marvel star, hoping to get some clues on his return to the superhero universe as the beloved Ant-Man. Going back and forth with more than one “I don’t know,”

Rudd adopted a very measured tone in addressing the questions. So much so that he even choked a little before gaining clarity.

Despite his diplomatic take, Rudd revealed he has no plans to stray far from the Marvel Cinematic Universe—always just a call away in case they need some saving. However, he soon landed back in the daze. While he tried his best to dodge the back-to-back superhero question, Rudd ultimately gave in, highlighting that “they [Marvel Studios] know where I am at.”

Though the air of confusion remains just as it is about his return, if not Marvel, he can probably pitch in for the fans who need some saving.
