, which made history as the platform’s first original animated series upon its debut in August 2014. Celebrated for its themes, its creator is coming back to Netflix with another original animated series, Long Story Short,
this summer.

For his Netflix comeback with Long Story Short
, Raphael Bob-Waksberg has once again assembled a huge and top-notch cast who will be voicing the human family in this time-traveling series. This upcoming Netflix cast boasts Lisa Edelstein, Paul Reiser, Ben Feldman, Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, Angelique Cabral, Nicole Byer, and recurring guests Dave Franco and Michaela Dietz.
As for the crew, some names from BoJack Horseman
are returning with supervising producer Lisa Hanawalt, Tornante Television’s executive producers Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen. The co-executive producers from Horseman Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley are also returning for this series.
From the creator of BoJack Horseman comes the new animated series, LONG STORY SHORT.

Arriving on the platform on August 22, Long Story Short
is the story of one family, which will be shown across the years. It follows the Schwooper siblings from childhood to adulthood and back again, documenting their highs and lows and other significant moments in their lives. Back in 2014, BoJack Horseman
brought Raphael Bob-Waksberg fame and awards for its world-class satire and emotional depth. Now, with Long Story Short,
animation fans’ expectations are just as high for Waksberg.

Long Story Short
is a proud collection in Netflix’s animation department, which is fully charged up for delivering non-stop entertainment this year.
Netflix is delivering unending dose of animation in 2025 and 2026
Netflix has already started its spring animation kick with Barbie & Teresa: Recipe for Friendship, Plankton: The Movie, Cocomelon Lane Season 4,
and Wolf King
, with back-to-back releases in March. With a couple more releases in April, the platform is set for May, with The Wild Robot
and Dog Man
introduced on the platform on May 24th and somewhere in September, respectively.
Other than this, Netflix also has big plans for next year with the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2, The Bad Guys 2, Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie,
dropping exclusively in 2026
. While fans wait for these adventures to take them on a journey of vivid animation, they can certainly entertain themselves with Long Story Short,
studded with such an amazing cast, coming out this August.
