In the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, which was more popular for TV viewers: romance or action? For streaming viewers, the tried and true “Netflix and chill” held strong as the streamer accounts for eight of the Top 10 most-watched programs on the Samba TV Weekly Wrap Report.
Sitting atop this week’s streaming chart is “Aftermath,” a 2024 action flick that accomplishes the rare feat of being the most-watched program while also being panned by nearly everyone who has seen it. The movie managed to squeeze ahead of Netflix’s clear Valentine’s Day tie-in title, “La Dolce Villa,” a rom-com about a father finding love in Italy as he helps his daughter renovate a fixer-upper of a villa.

We got back to action with the next few spots, starting with “Surviving Black Hawk Down.” The docuseries looks at the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, which served as the inspiration for the 2001 film “Black Hawk Down.” No. 4 is the second season of “The Night Agent,” which has been lodged in the top half of the chart for four consecutive weeks. It’s ahead of another chart mainstay, Hulu’s political thriller “Paradise,” which is No. 5.
We return to Netflix with the next three programs. The “Karate Kid” spinoff “Cobra Kai” returned with the third (and final) part of its sixth (and final) season. Season 4 of the romantic drama “Sweet Magnolias” landed at No. 7, while last week’s chart-topper, “Kinda Pregnant,” fell to No. 8.
Apple TV+ put a feature film on the chart this week with “The Gorge.” Led by Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, the movie manages to combine action, horror and romance with a story of how two special agents guarding “the world’s most dangerous secret” fall in love.
Closing out the streaming chart is “The Åre Murders,” a Swedish noir series about the investigation into a missing girl.

If that sounds heavy, you’re in luck, because laughs dominated the linear chart this week. “Saturday Night Live” has been celebrating its 50th anniversary all season long, Valentine’s Day weekend was when the show threw a real party. Five decades of comedy legends gathered in 30 Rock for the “SNL50: The Anniversary Special” on Sunday night, Feb. 16, and that drew enough viewers to top this week’s chart.
In fact, viewers were so eager to see cast members from decades past that “SNL50: The Red Carpet” made the chart, coming in at No. 2. Meanwhile, “Ladies and Gentlmen… 50 Years of SNL Music,” a documentary about the show’s musical guests throughout the years, comes in at No. 4 this week.
Wedged into the “SNL” sandwich is “The Voice,” relegated to No. 3 this week by its fellow NBC favorites.
But wait, “SNL” isn’t the only quinquagenarian with three programs on this week’s chart. “Wheel of Fortune,” which is older than “SNL” by a month, holds spots No. 6 through No. 8 this week.
Rounding out the rest of the chart is “FBI” at No. 5, “Tracker” at No. 9, and “Family Guy” at No. 10.
The Wrap Report provides an exclusive first look at the most watched movies and TV series from the past week across both streaming and linear television sourced from viewership trends collected from Samba TV’s panel of more than 3 million households, balanced to the U.S. Census.
