revival is coming back to television after 15 years with its 14th installment. According to the official description provided by Hulu, King of the Hill

season 14 picks up after years of propane work in Saudi Arabia,  when Hank and Peggy Hill return to their roots in Arlen, Texas, reuniting with old friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill

. Meanwhile, Bobby’s culinary spark is blazing in Dallas, where he is whipping up a storm as a chef while living his best life with former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane.

originally ran for 13 seasons on Fox from 1997 to 2009. Discussions about a revival go back to 2017, before the 21st Century Fox-Disney merger. The revival was always a priority, and with its 14th season, King of the Hill

is expected to address the passage of time. Mike Judge and Greg Daniels co-created King of the Hill and are executive producing the revival.

season 14 will be released on the Disney-owned streamer on August 4

, which comes nearly 2 and a half years after Hulu announced the retreat. Season 14 will consist of 10 episodes and is considered a continuation of the original show. The streamer also released a first look alongside a season credit sequence.

The image shows that Bobby Hill, who was in middle school in the original series, has grown up. Although the opening credits, the show’s alley backdrop, and The Refreshments’ theme song seem all too familiar, the clip captures a time-lapse, representing the years that have passed and how the Hill family moved out and then back to Arlen, Texas.

Several original voice cast members are returning to the King of the Hill

season 14 revival, including co-creator Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss. Hardwick, who voiced Dale Gribble, passed away in August 2023. He did some voice recordings for the revival before Huss took over for the remainder of the incomplete season. 

20th Television Animation is producing the series. The entire list of executive producers includes Judge, Greg Daniels, Saladin Patterson, Michael Rotenberg, and Howard Klein of 3 Arts and Dustin Davis of Judge and Daniels’ Bandera Entertainment. Patterson also serves as the showrunner for King of the Hill

season 14.
