Joseph Quinn Confesses Johnny Storm’s Womanizing Character Is No Longer S—, Promises to Improve It

In the past two decades, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become an unstoppable force with back-to-back action thrillers. Last month only they made the internet-shaking announcement of Avengers Doomsday

, which is slated for a 2026 release. But before that, they are setting the stage and reintroducing important characters with the Fantastic Four

remake this summer with Fantastic Four: The First Steps.

As the movie is all set to entertain the audience soon with a July release, there are going to be certain changes in it compared to the previous version. Especially in the character of Johnny Storm/Human Torch played this time by Joseph Quinn.

Joseph Quinn has some hard-hitting opinions about his MCU character

Joseph Quinn seems excited about his MCU debut however, he has some solid thoughts on his character development in terms of the cultural evolution. He recently spoke about the movie to Entertainment Weekly

and shared that the “c—-, womanizing playboy”

traits of Johnny Storm in the previous Fantastic Four

“is no longer s—.”

Joseph Quinn further shared that he has also expressed this opinion with Marvel’s Kevin Feige on Storm’s prior iterations and how they find him in the present cultural and woke scenario. Quinn added, he was portrayed as a “womanizing, devil-may-care guy, but is that s— these days? I don’t think so.”

 However, with his version, he promises to redeem his character and assures that his Johnny Storm is less callous with other people’s feelings and has a self-awareness about what originated this attention-seeking behavior.

In the previous two movies, the character of Johnny Storm was played by Chris Evans in the 2005 Fantastic Four

and its 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

. Now, 18 years later, Joseph Quinn is ready to redo him as he understands what the fans want.

Joseph Quinn has previously told Entertainment Weekly that for his upcoming release, he feels that the aspects are very different from other Marvel movies, which the actor finds very compelling. He understands that superhero movies are movies about people, and it is for how much invested they are as actors in the character that the fans watch the movies. Apart from Quinn, other lead actors part of The Fantastic Four: The First Steps

are Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm and Johnny’s sister, and Ebon Moss Bacharach as Ben Grimm. 

It is all set for a theatrical release in July and will find itself clashing with its direct opponent, DC’s cinematic universe Superman

, which flips the script from Zack Snyder’s brooding legacy. Nevertheless, the promotion for The Fantastic Four: The First Steps

is in full swing, and Joseph Quinn further intrigues the audience about how the characters will be this time with his comment.
