While having sons and daughters might be a commonality amongst late-night show hosts, it is telling of their time once it is realized that they now have a grandchild. Jimmy Kimmel, heart of Jimmy Kimmel Live!,
has recently revealed to the internet the blessing that he has had. And while it is a sweet point in life, it makes a mark of the years that the late-night show host has experienced.
While some might have been mourning the Monday show, all must have rejoiced knowing Grandpa Kimmel has come to town.

It was May 19, 2025, that Jimmy Kimmel exchanged a night of the live show for something that has become a lot more precious to even those who have been tuning in. Having become a grandfather only after Johnny Carson had back in the 1980s, the joy was not lost on just the parents of the kid. Kimmel, over the moon, had announced the arrival of the baby on Tuesday’s live show.
Letting out the reason behind the cancellation of Monday is that, as captioned on his Instagram, “Jimmy is a GRADNPA!!!

Katie Kimmel, mother of the newborn baby, Patti, is Kimmel’s daughter from his first marriage to Gina Maddy. While not much is known about the now estranged mother of Kimmel’s first few children, Katie, a daughter Kimmel had raised as he had juggled his jobs to make ends meet, has today built herself up to be an entrepreneur and artist. And while Katie Kimmel is going to be out and about with a small new life at hand, Kimmel’s son from his first marriage, Kevin Kimmel, seems to be following somewhere along his father’s footsteps in television production.

While Kimmel’s older children are now grown well into adulthood, Jane and Billy Kimmel still have a long way to go. Both are ten and eight years old, respectively.

Kimmel’s journey from being a struggling father, stretching his wits to make ends meet, to a proud grandfather and one of the greatest Oscar hosts
has been something the world has transitioned from media to media to follow. His close-knit family, that clearly follows in his footsteps, and strife and joy construct a testament to Jimmy Kimmel’s character both on and off screen. Kimmel’s dedication and love for his family are a reminder of the importance that family does, and should hold in one’s life to find perseverance and joy in life.
