Netflix found their modern-day horror genre star when they perfectly cast Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams. The Gen Z’s Scream Queen, adds glory to Ortega’s choices of unsettling yet splendid characters and emphasizes how believable she makes the characters with her convincing performances. Now ready to bedazzle the audience again, Ortega has arrived with a horror-comedy Death of a Unicorn
which will see her running for her life and sharing acquaintance with a Unicorn as the trailer promises.
Being an action star, however, is no walk in the park. But Ortega is always game for it and loves all the shenanigans that come with being the star of a horror movie.
Jenna Ortega is a sucker for action movies’ adventures
Whenever the screen needs a young lady evading made-up ghosts, or picking a mighty fight with a shapeshifter, Ortega fits the bill and she has a knack for it. Currently busy promoting her next release, Jenna Ortega sheds light on how much she loves the role in a horror movie where she has to run and fight and sees them as a form of therapy. “I love running for my life, I love screaming, I love crying on set. It’s all very therapeutic and very fun”
stated the young star in an interview with Discussing Films.

Ortega further reveals that the action was a bit more difficult in this movie as she was surrounded by talented actors and wanted to keep looking at their performances. But she finds the process of making horror movies so “exciting, and amazing and thrilling”
and loves working on the sets daily. In her upcoming release, she is sharing the screen with Paul Rudd, who plays her father
. The movie promises a wild ride as the duo kills a unicorn by an accidental car hit and a fiasco follows. The film also stars Will Poulter, Jessica Hynes, and others.
With its release next week, fans will be seeing more of Ortega in her preferred zone of horror mixed with comedy. However, Ortega has been the reigning queen of horror long before Wednesday
made her a global hit.
Jenna Ortega’s long love for the horror genre of films
The wild universe of Wednesday was not the first rodeo for Jenna Ortega. The young actress is no stranger to running and screaming as seen in series like You
and The Babysitter
. Her role in Tara Carpenter’s Scream
franchise took it to another level as she survived the Woodsboro killings and teamed up with her sister to fight Ghostface. Ortega has become the poster girl for the slasher style of films and her fans to love to see her in that avatar.
As for Wednesday,
after a successful first season, fans are eager to see Ortega spellbound them as mystic and lovable Wednesday once again. The second season is set to be released soon and rumors mills are abuzz with the talks of a third season already. While that will take time, Ortega seems all set with Death of a Unicorn
gracing cinemas on March 28, 2025.
