The world of streaming has absolutely no shortage of original ideas when it comes to content. But often, the platforms follow the golden rule of rebooting an established movie or show to get more audience engagement. The streaming giant Netflix has managed to gain an edge over its competitors through a combination of new stories and revivals of old classics with a modern twist. And continuing this path, Netflix is rumoured to reboot the 1990 movie, Tremor,
as a series.
The millennial monster horror film that entertained fans 35 years ago has them hoping that they might get another good time with a series. But is the news true or false?
Is Netflix bringing back monster movie Tremor with its own take?
The fans of this classic 1990 movie will be disappointed to learn that Netflix is not rebooting it. People are misled because of a false post on Facebook by an account named Rumbledore
. The post shared the invalid news that a reboot of the Tremors
franchise in the form of an 8-episode series will be coming to Netflix in August 2025, with Kevin Bacon. But there has been no word about it either from Netflix or the actor.

Though the original Tremor
was a gem in the genre of monster movies. Starring Kevin Bacon, it also had Fred Ward, Finn Carter, Michael Gross, and Reba McEntire. The movie followed the natives of a small isolated town who defend themselves against strange underground creatures that are killing them one by one. A fun premise for an entertaining watch, but unfortunately, the movie flopped at the time. Though in the current time it is available to watch
on Paramount Plus, AMC Plus, or Apple TV Channel.
With numerous yesteryear classics like Happy Gilmore, Legally Blonde,
and others getting sequels after a long gap, many fans believed that Tremors
might be getting the same. But they need not worry, as the Tremors
franchise might be on the verge of making a different comeback.
Creators of Tremors has a new outlook for its modern arrival
The original creators of Tremors
have won the rights back to the original script. And they are hoping for a sequel. According to a recent blog post, Stampede Entertainment partners Ron Underwood, Brent Maddock, and S.S. Wilson want this new sequel to be set in the desert town of Perfection, Nevada, and give the same old movie vibes. For this revival original star Kevin Bacon has hopes to be associated once again.

Well, Stampede Entertainment was not part of the last three Tremors
movies, but the original creators kept themselves involved with the franchise. And to keep the upcoming project as authentic as possible, the new movie will not be a remake with a new cast. The fans who were disappointed with the news of its false Netflix series could rejoice with a movie revival.
