The Marvel Cinematic Universe may have retreated a few steps to regroup and conquer after its post-Avengers: Endgame curse of lackluster releases. But with each passing day, the studio has been setting sights on the A-lister camp of Tinseltown to reinvent, reclaim, and move forward. The Marvel rumor mill has been running at all times, and one of the recent actors to get caught in the web of its gossip grapevine is The Substance
star, Margaret Qualley.
Word on the street about Qualley’s Marvel debut as Rogue is picking up pace faster than light, but here is the scoop on whether there is any truth to the claim.
Inside Marvel and Margaret Qualley’s rumored dream team
On a recent episode of THE HOT MIC
podcast, John Rocha and industry insider Jeff Sneider delved deep into recent entertainment news, leaving some nuggets about what awaits in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the two discussed flying capes and heroes, Sneider’s drumroll announcement landed on Margaret Qualley for allegedly circling on the X-Men
front
, “hot off The Substance.”
“I heard she might be the leader of Rogue Nation,”
Sneider teased as Rocha tried his darts to land on the speculative role.
Rocha was initially dazed, considering Qualley had only recently signed up for Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars
. However, Sneider chimed in with the information that filming will begin this spring for Scott’s upcoming while the X-Men
project will not start until next year, giving Qualley plenty of time to make the rumor a reality. But having heard the Marvel rumors of Jenna Ortega
, with some recently landing on Rogue, confusion still surrounds the probability.
Still, should Margaret Qualley join the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s X-Men crew as Rogue, what would she be capable of?
All about Rogue, the Marvel character Margaret Qualley is rumored to portray
In their Marvel-centric discussions on THE HOT MIC
podcast, John Rocha and Jeff Sneider acknowledged Margaret Qualley as an actor who is far from the camp of rising stars, like Sydney Sweeney
, Jacob Elordi, or Jenna Ortega, for a matter of fact. But having been a seasoned actor, both understood the weight she could bring to the plate as Rogue. For those uninitiated, Rogue is a Marvel Comics character commonly linked with X-Men.

Rogue first appeared in Avengers Annual #10 (1981), a creation of Chris Claremont and Michael Golden. Rogue initially seems like a reluctant supervillain, but she joins X-Men as a superhero. The character can absorb the psyche and faculties of other humans through physical contact, including knowledge, skills, and powers, by occasionally duplicating the characteristics within herself.
Although Qualley’s role is yet to be said and stamped, if it does, her star power, Marvel’s pedigree, and Rogue’s mutant abilities could be a force to reckon with.
