On September 11th, 2023, Netflix formally confirmed that Aema
would be produced, and filming got underway. On March 31st, 2024, the production came to an end after months of filming.

To increase the global reach of Korean entertainment,
Netflix formed a significant partnership with SBS, a well-known South Korean broadcaster. Netflix will provide its local members with new SBS dramas, variety shows, and cultural programming as part of the agreement. In the second half of 2025, a few of these new games will make their simultaneous global debuts.
Netflix will also be in charge of these productions, dubbing, regional promotion, and subtitling.

Taking advantage of the growing demand for K-dramas around the world, Netflix said in 2024 that it will invest $2.5 billion in South Korean creative content over the next four years
