When promoting the movie during its release, some years ago, both actors shared what influences them while choosing scripts.

Describing his choices, he also shared that he likes the kind of action where he sees a little bit of fear in the opponent’s eyes. And with the action sequences in The Hitman’s Bodyguard

, he likes to have a bit of that. The same goes for Samuel Jackson, who shared that he grew up during a time when every year he got a gun for Christmas because he played cowboys a lot. He had every cowboy iteration of gun when he was young. “We did a lot of gunfightin’

“. This early life experience also influenced him to incline towards high-action movies, like this one.

Well, their instincts and love towards action paid off as not only did the movie perform well commercially, but it also earned the action-loving heroes a sequel with Salma Hayek.

of $176.6 million earnings, securing a sequel which saw Salma Hayek shine along with the boys.

In its 2021 sequel, Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard,

Michael Bryce, continues his friendship with assassin Darius Kincaid, as they try to save Darius’ wife Sonia, played by Salma Hayek. Though it came out during the pandemic, but still managed to scare a decent $38 million in the US and $32 million worldwide, making its total $70.1 million. The movie is available on many streaming platforms
