nears its intense final episodes.
Madeline Brewer opened up about Janine’s evolution in The Handmaid’s Tale
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Madeline Brewer shared that The Handmaid’s Tale
Season 6 takes a notably darker direction, especially as Janine is forced into a brothel in Gilead. Brewer explained, “We turned it a bit darker this season,”
referring to the series’ exploration of the Jezebel setting. Yet, paradoxically, Brewer noted that Janine experiences a form of freedom. Despite the horrors she has endured, Janine’s enduring spirit shines through her protective instincts and deep connection to her daughter.
