The three-episode series follows the Gilgo Beach crime. Produced and directed by Liz Garbus, the series follows the stories of red light women’s disappearance from Long Island and New York City. The series is shot from the perspective of the victim and their family members. In an interview with Variety magazine, the director explained how she felt close and in connection with the family members after her interactions with them. Further speaking about the point of view for the series, she explained that she wanted to express the grief and pain of the family members of the victim since the catastrophic events, and how it left them devastated.
It seems that the rawness and the unsettling truth of the subject have found resonance with the audience on X, which is filled with good reviews in just one day.

It is evident that the Emmy-winning and Academy Award-nominated director Liz Garbus has done a phenomenal job on the series, as the viewers state on X that the series had them sobbing with sympathy for the workers.
