Earlier this year, Gracie Abrams dropped her second studio album, ‘The Secret of Us’. And as the album started making its way up the charts, fans wasted no time in dubbing her the biggest ‘nepo baby’ of the summer. The bigger her music got, the more people seemed shocked to find out she is actually the daughter of a famous director. That little tidbit has sealed her fate as a ‘nepo baby’- a label we love to slap on famous people who grew up in the celebrity fast lane. But recently, Abrams decided to shut the haters down with her performance.
Gracie Abrams recently made her debut as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live
, where she performed a track from ‘The Secret of Us,’ plus a bonus song from the deluxe version of the album. She started her set with ‘That’s So True,’ a song she had been performing during her Secret of Us tour before adding it to the deluxe album in October. For her second performance, Abrams sang ‘I Love You, I’m Sorry’.

This was the third single from the June release of ‘The Secret of Us,’ which earned a lot of love from fans. The track also featured Taylor Swift
, who Abrams had the honor of opening for on the recently wrapped up Eras Tour. Abrams’ Saturday Night Live
performance absolutely wowed the crowd online—even those who were not exactly sold on her as a rising star just a few months ago.

Gracie Abrams turns her haters into lovers with Saturday Night Live debut
Gracie Abrams is a huge fan of Taylor Swift, even though Swifties may not have been always kind to her
. In fact, she considered getting the chance to open on the Eras Tour a dream come true. During the final leg of the tour in the US and Canada, Abrams got to share the stage with the billionaire, and now, some fans are even saying that the rising star channels a bit of Swift’s energy, comparing their voices.

Gracie Abrams had her first real taste of online hate a few months ago when she covered Ethel Cain’s ‘American Teenager’. It did not take long for Cain’s fans to rip into her on X. While some simply felt the song did not quite suit her voice, the bigger issue seemed to be the irony of Abrams, who comes from a privileged background, covering a song about generational trauma and poverty. Nonetheless, despite the backlash, Abrams seems to be slowly winning people over, turning all the hate into love, one performance at a time.
