Glen Powell is set to team up with “Moonlight” and “Mufasa” director Barry Jenkins on “The Natural Order,” a sci-fi thriller that will be released by Universal through the studio’s recent first-look deal with Powell’s production company Barnstorm.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film is said to be centered around the search for immortality. Jenkins is in talks to direct and co-write the film with “Coco” co-writer Matthew Aldrich, who is adapting the film from his unpublished manuscript.

Powell will produce the film alongside his producing partner Dan Cohen through Barnstorm. Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak will also produce through Pastel, along with Jewerl Keats Ross. Universal senior EVP of development Erik Baiers will oversee the feature for the studio.

Powell is repped by CAA and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. Jenkins and Aldrich are repped by CAA, manager Jewerl Keats Ross and lawyer Jamie Feldman. The project was first reported by Deadline.
