Ye, formerly known as Kanye West
, is no rookie when it comes to stirring the pot online. With X at his fingertips and Elon Musk’s hands-off approach to moderation, Ye has a digital megaphone with no filter. He has used the platform not just to rant, but to roast — taking aim at Hollywood elites, exes like Kim Kardashian
, and long-time rivals like Taylor Swift
. And when it comes to politics? Yes, he is back on X, making waves once again — loud, unapologetic, and entirely Ye.
Ye, never one to bite his tongue, has thrown his political cards on the table once again—this time weighing in boldly amid tensions rising in the Israel–Palestine conflict.
Ye, known for his bold and often controversial opinions, has once again stirred up attention on X. The rapper, never one to hold back on sharing his thoughts about everything from politics to pop culture, posted a tweet in all caps: “FREE GAZA.”
As always, Ye’s unfiltered approach to social media keeps everyone talking, proving once again that he is never far from the spotlight and always ready to make waves. Although this is not the first time Ye has commented on this particular global issue.

In 2024, Ye was approached at an airport and asked about a rising conflict. Staying true to his unapologetic self, he simply said, “I don’t have enough information on that,”
making it clear he was not about to dive into a conversation he was not informed on. Known for speaking out on mental health and other tough topics, Ye’s stance remains unwavering, whether you love him or hate him. Recently, John Legend, once a close friend of Ye, opened up about Ye’s past, offering fans deeper insight.

Ye and John Legend: A journey from friendship to heartbreak
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, John Legend reflected on his early days working with Ye, recalling how passionate and gifted the rapper was. He remembered Ye’s big dreams, not just for himself but for those around him, especially after they collaborated on ‘The College Dropout’ in 2004. “He had so much optimism, so much creativity,”
Legend said, adding it is difficult to see how much Ye has changed. Legend admitted he never saw any signs of Ye’s current controversial views, calling it a painful experience to witness his decline.
John Legend says the death of Ye’s mother, Donda West, started his “descent.”
“I don’t think we’re qualified to psychoanalyse him, but after his mother passed in 2007 there was definitely a difference. His descent started then and seems to have accelerated recently.” pic.twitter.com/W3GwkfF61z

When asked about Ye’s drastic change over the years, John Legend avoided speculating, saying, “I don’t think we’re qualified to psychoanalyse him.”
He did, however, mark the passing of Ye’s mother, Donda, in 2007 as a turning point. Since then, Ye—now a full-blown controversy magnet—has only become more provocative, even citing a quote attributed to Hitler
. Yet, despite facing criticism for his statements, Ye refuses to hold back, continuing to express his unfiltered beliefs, even when it comes to political issues.
