Wednesday turned wishful for MCU fans as the past and future timelines of the superhero world collided, courtesy of Elizabeth Olsen and Sadie Sink crossing paths. Sink, for those unversed, has reportedly been cast to play a major role in the upcoming Spider-Man
installment featuring Tom Holland. And though the cameras have not started rolling yet, the 23-year-old is already brushing shoulders with Marvel royalty.
This unprecedented union was brought about by Elizabeth Olsen, also known as Wanda Maximoff or Scarlet Witch, who paid a visit to Sadie Sink at her current Broadway endeavor, John Proctor Is the Villain. The official Instagram handle of the play posted a backstage snap of Olsen and Sink, prompting Marvel loyalists to dissect every detail — and do so as viscerally as ever.

Sink’s stage presentation, for the record, earned seven Tony nominations at the 2025 ceremony. Though it went home with zero accolades, critics have been singing praises of the piece without missing a beat. And while the Stranger Things
alum is already winning hearts with her nuanced portrayal of Shelby Holcomb, fans are more hyped to see how she will land in the MCU—especially with dreams of a Sink-Olsen crossover taking over the fandom.
It is astonishing how the tweeteraties churned several narratives from a single still. But then again, as mentioned earlier, it was two MCU timelines bumping.
Elizabeth Olsen and Sadie Sink cross paths, igniting MCU speculation and style commentary
The Internet collectively agreed that Elizabeth Olsen did not just casually drop by at Sadie Sink’s Broadway show on June 18. She, instead, smartly foreshadowed her return to the superheroverse. Well, if this particular theory turns out to be true in the future, it would have fans celebrate their detective skills. It would, however, contradict Olsen’s recent statement where she revealed MCU offerings do not align with her “personal taste,”

. But since she is coming back to the MCU for a 2025 project anyway
, the stars might just align for a Sink-Olsen crossover.

Professional remarks aside, the dialogue on the internet soon turned personal with keyboard warriors advising Sink to stop slouching. A certain individual arguing the vintage effect of the picture also seemed to take an indirect aim at Sink, insinuating maybe the picture looks a decade and a half old rather than a fresh click because of the actress’s visibly tired stance next to Olsen’s beaming demeanor.
Jesus, girl, stop slouching.

The picture above rightly sent ripples across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, inviting fans to speculate whether there is a possibility of the two actresses teaming up for Marvel or otherwise. But if we get curious about what both the ladies currently have going on on their respective work fronts, it is clear that their professional lives are pointing northwards.
