Billy Joel has postponed eight of his upcoming concert tour dates in an effort to recover and undergo physical therapy after having surgery for an unspecified medical condition.

The impacted performances have been rescheduled for late 2025 through summer 2026 and the tour will pick back up at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5, a message on his Instagram account read on Tuesday.

“The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors. Joel is expected to make a full recovery,” the statement noted. “Thank you for your understanding. All purchased tickets will automatically be valid for the rescheduled shows.”

“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first,” Joel himself added. “I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans.”

The post went on to list the rescheduled dates and locations — including shows in Detroit, Toronto, Syracuse, Salt Lake City, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Charlotte and Milwaukee.

While the statement didn’t share any details about the medical condition, Joel’s concert break comes after the multifaceted musician fell during his performance on Feb. 22 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut. He carried on with the show after recovering, however, so it’s unclear whether the accident is in any way related to this latest medical condition or surgery.
