If you give Bill Burr any opportunity to dunk on billionaires, he’s going to take it — even if he creates that opportunity himself. Jimmy Fallon learned that during the comedian’s latest appearance on “The Tonight Show,” which included Burr going off on a two-minute rant about how much he hates billionaires like Elon Musk.

The funniest part about Burr’s rant is that it was Burr himself who prompted it. Fallon asked the comedian what “drop dead years” means, a reference to the title of Burr’s latest stand-up special on Hulu. Burr explained that they’re a time in a middle-aged man’s life where he is “too young to die of natural causes but not too young to just drop dead.” After they riffed about death for a while, Burr changed the subject.

“It’s a positive time, Jimmy. Billionaires are not happy having a billion dollars,” he said on Tuesday night to the applause of the studio audience. And with that, Burr was off. First he started with some targeted jabs at Tesla, SpaceX and X head Elon Musk.

“Why does Elon Musk dress like he just got out of a Hot Topic? I am so sick of that guy trying to rewrite his origin story like he was Matthew McConaughey pulling into the high school,” Burr said, alluding to McConaughey’s far-too-old character in “Dazed and Confused.” “Like you were a f–king nerd, nobody banged you and now you have hair plugs in your laminated face.”

Burr then went on to say that everyone is now afraid of “these nerds,” seemingly referring to tech billionaires like Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg.

“I don’t get it. My whole life, feminists were focusing on frat boys and guys with their hats on backwards, and they left the nerds alone. And now look at ’em. They’ve got people wearing adult diapers driving 18-wheelers trying to get Crocs to the box store on time. They’re horrible, heartless people,” Burr said.

“And then, for some reason, if you say that, you’re like a communist. And then we’re in bed with the Russians,” he added. “I don’t get any of it. None of it makes sense.” Watch the full interview above, which also includes Burr talking about his Broadway debut in “Glengarry Glen Ross.”
