has always had a flair for the unexpected, both on screen and off. So when she launched a quirky bathwater collaboration with a leading US personal care company, the internet laughed in disbelief, blinked in suspicion, but kept watching. What started as a head-scratcher, though, has now drawn serious business attention, with reports of a jaw-dropping acquisition of the said company making waves across industries. The question that now lingers, like steam on a mirror, is: will Sweeney’s marketing move soak in some serious profits for her?
As a British consumer giant splashes out over a billion dollars on the bathwater soap brand linked to Sydney Sweeney, fans wonder if the Euphoria
star just turned soapy bubbles into serious gold.
Her face sold the soap and the company — but did Sydney Sweeney negotiate a cut?
Dr. Squatch, the US personal care company that Sydney Sweeney signed on with as a brand ambassador in 2024, reached greater heights earlier this year when one of their products — a soap sold with the claim of having the actress’s bathwater infused into it — went viral. Among all the eyes it attracted, however, it was being noticed by Unilever, which turned out to be the most fruitful. The MNC, per Reuters
, has acquired Dr. Squatch for $.1.5 billion. However, Sweeney, to the disappointment of many, will not be getting a slice of the pie.

While the Unilever deal is a massive leap for the founders and key investors, Sweeney only remained involved with the company in an ambassador capacity. Hence, like any brand ambassador, an increase in the company’s valuation after its billion and a half dollar acquisition will not get her any direct benefits. She can, however, hope Unilever retains her as the face of the brand, which would secure her ambassador paycheck. While time will tell if the negotiation comes through, Sweeney is not short on brand partnerships.

Sydney Sweeney’s name sells, and these brands are paying big for it
While Sydney Sweeney was counted among the big breakout stars since Euphoria
’s meteoric rise, the actress’s real breakthrough came after the 2023 rom-com, Anyone But You.
Since December of that year, Sweeney’s media visibility has been no joke, and naturally, brands began rallying behind her at a pace difficult to keep up with. At present, the actress has partnerships with globally recognized brands like MiuMiu, Armani Beauty, and Kérastase in place, and one can only imagine the dollars she is funneling into her bank with these contracts.

Sydney Sweeney’s brand value is certainly tracing a one-way trajectory — north. With a rare multigenerational appeal that resonates across age groups and a persona that does not fit in a box, she offers the kind of versatility brands crave. Amid Dr. Squatch’s lucrative acquisition right after the actress joined it, one thing is assured: Sweeney’s marketability is far from peaking.
