The entertainment capital spans across very many genres. But travel shows hit home like no other. It not only helps viewers cherish a part of the world from the comfort of their homes, but also brings a miniature globe in the clasp of the audience. Most recently, the acclaimed Hollywood actor Stanley Tucci traveled back to Italy for his new travel show.
Instead of traveling to Italian hotspots, Tucci flipped a page on familiarity with new picturesque destinations. Those who want in on his Italian tour guide, here is all you need to know.
Stanley Tucci takes the world through stunning Italian locations
Tucci in Italy,
Stanley Tucci’s new National Geographic series, sees the Hollywood star traversing the land of amore. But rather than trotting down famous tourist spots, Tucci takes viewers through lesser-known areas. Ahead of the show’s premiere, in an interview with Town & Country, Tucci
divulged how the show differs from his past work and what to expect from his new chapter of culinary travels. The show’s first episode in Lombardy sees him skip over Milan and focus on Autogrill, a 1947 roadside restaurant and gas station chain.

Tucci also travels to Umbria and Trentino-Alto Adige to offer a glimpse of the versatility of cuisine across Italian borders. While filming Searching for Italy, Tucci reportedly cruised 13 regions, and for Tucci in Italy, he revisited those regions and went to separate ones like Abruzzo. In one, he travels to Tuscany ahead of the Contrada dinner. In another, he goes to the marble quarries of Carrara in Colonnata. The Tuscany episode features Leonardo bakery and the corner trattoria Dalla Lola (via Condé Nast Traveler). He came up with the idea of the show 20 years ago, and his aim was to highlight the culinary diversity of Italy.
Though many have done it before and shall do it after, Tucci’s focus is not on the things that were theirs. In fact, Stanley Tucci explained why the National Geographic series is actually way more personal to him.
In his conversation with Town & Country, when the host pinpointed the promotional material of Tucci in Italy,
Stanley Tucci said, “It’s always been personal for me.”
Having been born and brought up in an Italian-American family, and having lived in Florence for a year, everything about Italy made him yearn for home. “I always thought about Italy and always wanted to go back,”
he continued.

As an adult, Tucci has been blessed with more than one opportunity to return to Italy. Thus, with Tucci in Italy
, Tucci is living a dream come true. Showbiz has given the opportunity to bring Italy to viewers
time and again. However, Tucci aims to show “the diversity of the people, the topography, the politics—all through the prism of food.
” Hence, Tucci in Italy
is not just a travel show; it is a journey through the cultural crossroads of culinary.
