Having been the wolf-pack leader of the streaming game since the dawn of digital frenzy, Netflix has sought poetic vengeance with every streaming step. Following a spring break of streaming delights, the OTT platform has pulled up its sleeves to return with the next batch of stories of the critically acclaimed UNTOLD
series on Netflix. Amid the pop-ups of streaming highlights on the giant, Rebecca Gitlitz’s The Fall of
Favre
has kept viewers on their toes with what is about to come in the tell-all documentation of Brett Favre’s narrative.
Speaking of UNTOLD: The Fall of Favre,
Gitlitz weighed in on how the Netflix documentary will chronicle the unexpected aspects of the football legend.

Netflix is peeling back the skin on its next round of UNTOLD
stories, which includes The Fall of Favre,
chronicling the life of Brett Favre, the Green Bay Packers legend. Despite his illustrious career on the field, Favre’s life was dented with unkind off-field charges. UNTOLD
explores the claims against Favre, and according to director Rebecca Gitlitz, the Netflix series shows
how “when fame rises, sometimes accountability falls.”
Gitlitz acknowledges The Fall of Favre
as a story of one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. But besides reflecting on his success and triumphs, UNTOLD
unpacks his life beyond “touchdowns and epic wins.” UNTOLD
goes as far as to ask the audience, “If success should be a shield for harmful behavior?”
The claims against Favre came from former New York Jets employee Jenn Sterger, who reportedly denied his request for her phone number, but still claimed to have received explicit texts that impacted her career.

Yet, this was not the only charge against Brett Favre that UNTOLD: The Fall of Favre
explores.
According to Rebecca Gitlitz, speaking to Tudum for Netflix’s UNTOLD: The Fall of Favre
, the show not only follows the claims against Brett Favre but also the public willingness to disregard misconduct when it comes to a star player. Favre was also reportedly part of a massive welfare con scheme, as charges against him suggest he knowingly received funds that were meant for families in need.
Champion. MVP. Hall of Famer. But that’s not the whole story.

“I’ve always been drawn to stories filled with nuance and complexity,”
Gitlitz said. When it comes to the biggest stars in sports, Gitlitz has always been curious about what lies on the other side of fame. Considering Netflix’s UNTOLD
has never shied from dipping its toes in the untold, this was just the right platform for The Fall of Favre.
was released on May 20
and is currently streaming on Netflix.
