Once upon a time, Disney’s live-action remakes were unstoppable, turning beloved classics into box-office gold. With Rachel Zegler stepping into the glass slippers—well, in this case, a poisoned apple—and Gal Gadot channeling her villainous charm as the Evil Queen, this new Snow White
promised a new, bold take on the classic tale. From the introduction of new characters to a reimagined journey of Snow White, everything seemed to be in place for another magical hit. But instead of fairy-tale cheers, the film found itself in a storm of controversy.
What went wrong in this enchanted kingdom? Did this Snow White rewrite the rules a little too much? The reactions have been anything but a happily ever after.
The worst Disney remake ever as Snow White crashes and burns
Disney’s Snow White
just made history—but for all the wrong reasons. The live-action remake, starring Rachel Zegler, has flopped harder than anyone imagined, reportedly raking in only $43 million domestically and $87 million globally, despite its jaw-dropping $350 million budget.
To make matters worse, its rating kept dropping lower; what was a 1.7 is now a humiliating 1.5/10 rating on IMDb,
making it the lowest-rated film ever on the platform.

Critics were not any kinder, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a low 41%.
And well, Hollywood insiders are already playing the blame game. Some point fingers at Zegler, who made waves well before the movie’s release. First, her casting as a Latina actress in the role of Snow White stirred controversy, then she called the original fairy tale “weird,”
and finally, her tweet on Middle Eastern conflicts put Disney in hot water. According to a report by Variety, she had her posts vetted by a social media guru paid for by Disney to monitor her posts
after she slammed Donald Trump post-reelection.

While some are throwing shade, others are hailing her as a Hollywood rebel with honor. But, one thing is clear—audiences may love the drama, but they sure are not showing up for the movie.
Snow White roasted by fans Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler dragged into the comments
Fans are not holding back, and Snow White
is being roasted from all sides.
While it started off strong in the box office previews
, it soon went off the rails, with social media filling up with reactions, labeling it “somehow even worse”
than expected. One user was stunned by the IMDb rating,
saying they had “never seen anything like it.”
Another mocked its failure, joking that at least it would be “known for something.”
Disney’s live-action gamble has completely backfired, with many pointing fingers at the studio for ruining a beloved classic.

Even Gal Gadot, typically a fan favorite, was not spared. One comment sarcastically questioned if she was the “worst actress,”
showing just how brutal the criticism has become. Others attacked Disney for mishandling the remake, saying the studio should “learn more about respecting cultures.”
tanking
, at least one fairy tale adaptation is getting a different fate. A horror-tinged twist on Cinderella, The Ugly Stepsister
, is winning hearts, proving that reimagined classics can work—just not this one.
