Warner Bros. Television has upped Clancy Collins White to the newly established position of president of Creative Affairs. In this role, Collins White will oversee the studio’s TV production unit for live-action scripted programming, which will include dramas, comedies and limited series, and will add oversight when it comes to casting and research.

Collins White will report directly to Channing Dungey, the newly appointed chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group and Warner Bros. Discovery U.S. Networks. While Collins White will oversee the creative side of the studio, Brett Paul will continue to oversee the business side. Paul was named president of Warner Bros. Television Group as well as COO of U.S. Networks in December of last year. In this role, he is also responsible for oversight of WB’s unscripted television as well as its TV animation studios.

Collins White will also oversee WBTV’s Comedy Development, which is led by Adrienne Turner; its Drama Development, which is led by Parul Agrawal; and will supervise Audience and Content Research and Insights, which is led by Jeanne Cotton. Dungey will continue to oversee Current Programming, which is led by Vicki Dummer.

“Clancy has been an essential part of Warner Bros. Television’s success for more than two decades, and I am thrilled that she will now take on an even more prominent leadership role,” Dungey said in a Monday statement. “Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do, and Clancy’s taste, collaborative spirit, passion for making great television and dedication to our artistic partners make her the ideal creative leader for our future.”

“I want to extend my deepest thanks to Channing for her mentorship and unwavering support. I look forward to continuing our work together alongside our amazingly talented teams and the best storytellers in the business,” Collins White said.

Additionally, Mele Nagler, who previously served as WBTV’s casting chief, has been promoted to EVP and head of Casting. Nagler will continue to oversee the casting for live-action scripted projects, manage WBTV’s studio casting executives team and supervise the hiring of independent casting directors. She will report to Collins White.

“Mele has played an invaluable part in putting together stellar casts for our highest-profile current series. I’m delighted to recognize her outstanding work with this most-deserved promotion,” Dungey said.

“I am elated to continue calling Warner Bros. Television my professional home. To work alongside the best executives in the business as we support our industry’s most talented creatives is a true honor. I cannot thank Channing and Clancy enough for their belief in me. I look forward to our continued collaboration,” Nagler added.

Under Collins White’s supervision, WBTV has launched Max’s medical drama “The Pitt,” Netflix’s basketball workplace comedy “Running Point,” CBS’ “Big Bang Theory” spinoff “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” and Apple TV+’s dark comedy “Bad Monkey” — all of which have casts assembled by Nagler and have been renewed for second seasons.
