“Hacks” is expanding its cast for Season 4. Julianne Nicholson, Michaela Watkins and 11 others have been added to the Max original as guest stars.

Little is known about the roles five of these guest stars will be playing. Nicholson is best known for her roles in “Paradise” and “I, Tonya.” As for Watkins, she previously starred in “Casual” and “Search Party.” They will be joined by other guest stars Bresha Webb (“Run the World”) and Eric Balfour (“The Offer,” “24”) as well as Robby Hoffman, who previously wrote for “The Chris Gethard Show” and “Workin’ Moms.”

As for the remaining six, they will guest star as writers on Deborah Vance’s (Jean Smart) new late night show. Those new cast members include Danny Jolles (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”), Gavin Matts (“Slice of Life”), Grover Whitmore III (“The African Desperate”), Holmes (“Welcome to Flatch”), Jasmine Ashanti (“On My Block”), Katy Sullivan (“Dexter: New Blood”), Matt Oberg (“Sisters”) and Sandy Honig (“Three Busy Debras”). This season will also include surprise cameos that have yet to be announced.

Last season of the Max original followed Deborah and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) as they scratched and schemed their way into Deborah finally getting her own late night show. But it turns out that may have been the easy part as tensions rise between these two very funny, very powerful women.

In addition to Smart and Einbinder, Season 4 will see the returns of Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato and Rose
Abdoo. Additionally, Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu, Lorenza Izzo, Johnny Sibilly, Paul Felder, Polly Draper, Luenell and Aristotle Athari will be in this upcoming season.

First released in 2021, “Hacks” has become an awards darling. Over its first three seasons, the comedy has won nine Emmys and has been nominated for over 40 of the prestigious awards. “Hacks” is showrun by Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky. Downs and Aniello executive produce the series through their Paulilu banner, and Statsky EPs through First Thought Productions. Other executive producers include Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment and Morgan Sackett. “Hacks” comes from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
