Former “The View” co-host Meghan McCain lashed out Alyssa Farah Griffin, saying her replacement in the show’s traditional “conservative” seat does not represent Republican women in America.
The scuffle started after Farah Griffin said on X that she did not understand how “serious Republicans” could support Tulsi Gabbard as Trump’s pick for Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Farah Griffin disabled the option to comment, so McCain retweeted the post and responded, “How anyone thinks you represent any Republican woman in America is beyond me.”
McCain is a longtime friend of Gabbard, who was confirmed as the director of national intelligence on Feb. 12. She explained at a 2024 Stand with Women event that the pair became close after she felt she had to defend Gabbard from her former “View” co-hosts.
“I remember being like, I’m really going to have to do defense for this woman here because they’re going to be so mean to her,” McCain said.
“You can look it up, it was like vultures,” said McCain, referring to a 2019 episode of “The View.”
McCain, whose father was late presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, left “The View” in 2021 after clashing repeatedly with liberal co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg. McCain launched her own podcast, “Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat” in November, where she discusses topics such as politics and pop trends.
“I want a real break after ‘The View,’” she told Parents last January following her exit from the show. “I don’t want to yell at anyone; I don’t want to be yelled at. I think there is enough anger and intensity in the world that I don’t need to contribute to it.”
Since leaving “The View,” McCain has remained her outspoken self. She has taken aim at Meghan Markle’s Netflix show “With Love, Meghan” for being “out of touch,” called Kristi Noem’s self-admitted puppy killing “serial killer” behavior and threatened to sue “View”co-host Ana Navarro for slander.
