Deadpool & Wolverine
may have shown the road to success in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but whether it took notes all along could be up for debate. Since the events of Avengers: Endgame
, Marvel Studios have hit setbacks, leaving fans to dwell in superhero fatigue. But even with a reclamation on the bingo cards, the comic universe seems stuck in a limbo of bad omens as Captain America: Brave New World
falls flat with its ratings, joining the catalog of Marvel missteps. Although MCU geeks prepared for a comeback era, with Brave New World
as the first pit stop, fans are now pleading with the studio to take it easy and slow.
Love was in the air, but so was disappointment. Just as Captain America: Brave New World
gears up for its Valentine’s Day debut, Anthony Mackie’s big moment took an unexpected nosedive right into Marvel’s Hall of Misfires. With a dismal 52% approval rating, early reviews on Rotten Tomatoes
are pleading for the hero to rescue this sinking ship as Brave New World
waltzes into the post-Endgame
era’s curse, joining the ranks of Secret Invasion, Eternals, Ant-Man
and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Secret Invasion
leads the leaderboard of letdowns at 53%, Brave New World
follows at 52%, Eternals
clings at 47%, and Quantumania
wraps up the wreckage at 46%. Although the flick still has time to reclaim at the box office, given Marvel Studio’s recent track record, it is difficult to say whether fans would be ready to give it a shot after the ratings. Since the MCU has barely lived up to the comic relief factor in recent years, whether respite will be in the fate of the Brave New World
remains a bit foggy.
Though the Captain already had a fallout with fans over his perspective on the symbolism of the character
, its most recent tanking has them softening and begging the studio to “slow down.”
Captain America: Brave New World’s ratings leave fans tired of the Marvel missteps
Captain America: Brave New World
has some mighty big boots and an even bigger shield to fill. After all, the legacy of Steve Rogers left by Chris Evans casts a long star-spangled shadow. This should have been Anthony Mackie’s grand drumroll, the triumphant passing of the vibranium torch. But instead of soaring like Falcon, it is tumbling down Marvel’s ever-expanding pit of blunders. Now, the fans cannot help but wonder if Marvel will ever stop tripping over its own cape.
At this point I cant even be this excited for Fantastic Four or Doomsday. MCU has been flopping hard.

Sad to see, maybe if they focused on the comics and telling a good story it could be good again

While most fans were disappointed, some saw the inevitability of it.
They need to slow down and make quality stories. It almost feels like it’s a cash grab off the IP at this point.

Eternals was solid and i’ll die on that hill

A few folks did not hold back or mince their words, expressing how the project always felt “forced
.” In a fresh twist, the fans, who should have held out their horses until the theatrical release were seen defending Eternals
over the upcoming Marvel flick. And since timing is everything in showbiz, even though Cupid’s arrow may be flying, so are the rotten tomatoes.
