Reynolds made a nine-year-old cancer patient, Riley Bains’ dream, come true in December last year after an appeal on BBC Radio Tees with local charity Miles for Men. However, BBC Tees just announced his sad demise, leaving Reynolds to don the cape to seal the tomb of tributes for the “best piggy-back passenger ever.”

Bains’ fleeting time was not measured in loss, but in the love he poured into everything he touched. The young fighter from Hartlepool, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2023, faced his battle with the kind of courage that could make even superheroes take notes. With a promise worthy of a cinematic farewell, the Deadpool
star sent a touching tribute, laced with love and emotion because real heroes do not say goodbye. Though Bains has left the stage, he will always have the starring role in Reynolds’ life.

Acknowledging the pain Waller’s mother was carrying on her shoulder, Reynolds tried to console her. “He had a sense of wellbeing and a sense of calm because you gave him YOURS,”
the actor wrote on X. Reynolds extended her a heartfelt invitation, welcoming her at the Wrexham club and town with a limited deal of “forever
.” Though one cannot stop the inevitable, Reynolds’ kindness is a reminder to seize that superhero moment and make the most of the responsibility in the real world for those who matter.
