1. The Life List
Starring Netflix’s newfound gem, Sofia Carson, The Life List
was released on the platform last month on March 28, 2025. Directed by Adam Brooks, the movie has a runtime of 125 minutes, in which Carson portrayed Alex Rose, a young woman who goes on a unique mission after her mother passes away.

With an IMDb rating of 6.5/10
the movie was much loved by the fans within a couple of days of its release. The storyline proves to be just as touching as Alex Rose ventures on a journey to complete her childhood bucket list
before receiving her inheritance, a legacy promised to her by her mother, Elizabeth, played by Connie Britton.
2. Meet the Khumalos
Directed by Jayan Moodley, Meet the Khumalos
is a South African romantic comedy film that has made its way on Netflix this month, only on 11 April. With a runtime of 92 minutes, the movie sees two mothers who once used to be best friends, now arch-enemies, start a neighborhood war against each other when they find out their kids are head-over-heels in love.

With an all-African star cast, it has Khanyi Mbau, Ayanda Borotho, and Jesse Suntele in leading roles. The movie has an IMDb rating of 5 stars out of 10 based on more than 400 reviews. It was featured as part of Netflix’s April 2025 content lineup and has met with affirmative reviews from critics.
3. Havoc
This Tom Hardy thriller has finally arrived on Netflix
this week on April 25, after a long wait. Directed by Gareth Evans, Havoc
has a running time of 107 minutes and follows a jaded cop, Patrick Walker, played by Hardy, who fights his way through a corrupt city’s criminal underworld to save a politician’s son.

Though the movie has just been released, it has scored a 98% ranking on IMDb with 5.9 out of 10 stars based on fourteen thousand reviews. With a stellar cast and gripping storyline, the movie promises pure entertainment.
4. Rise of the Guardians
Taking a break from the non-stop real-life entertainment, viewers can relax with an animated fantasy film, Rise of the Guardians,
to escape reality. Directed by Peter Ramsey, it was released in 2012 and has a running time of 97 minutes, with a 7.2 out of 10 rating.

The movie follows Jack Frost, Santa Claus, and the Tooth Fairy as they fight a malicious spirit that has received much love from fans. With top actors like Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Jude Law, Isla Fisher, and Hugh Jackman dubbed for it is among the fans’ favourites.
5. Godzilla Minus One
Written and directed by Tamashi Yamazaki, Godzilla Minus One
is a 2023 Japanese epic kaiju film and has a running time of 125 minutes with an all-Japanese star cast dubbed for it.
Something Godzilla Minus One does so well is a singular subjective narrative.
The film is essentially told from one character’s point of view and it’s beautiful.

With a 7.7/10 rating on IMDb, it follows post-war Japan at its lowest point when a new crisis emerges in the form of a giant monster, baptized in the horrific power of the atomic bomb.
6. Carol
Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara had all eyes on them in 2015 when they came with the historical romantic drama, Carol
. Directed by Todd Haynes, the movie has a running time of 119 minutes and also stars other top names like Sarah Paulson and Kyle Chandler.

Set in 1950s New York, Carol is about a forbidden affair between an aspiring female photographer and an older woman going through a difficult split, and has a 7.3/10 rating on IMDb.
7. Dune: Part Two
Released in March 2024, a worthy sequel to its predecessor, Dune: Part Two
was the biggest movie of that year. Directed by Dennis Villeneuve, it runs for 166 minutes, as Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and its other top cast find their way through the challenging desert of Dune.
Massively popular among the fans due to the novel it is based on, the movie has an 8.5/10 rating on IMDb and is expanding its universe with one series released and another upcoming movie.

Dune: Part Two
could be revisited, as it aligns perfectly with the current heated weather.
8. Field of Dreams
Released in 1989, fans revisit this Kevin Costner classic this month. Directed by Phil Alden Robinson, it has a running time of 106 minutes. This American sports fantasy drama film was based on a 1982 novel, Shoeless Joe, and has a 7.5/10 rating on IMDb.
It is a gold flick for sports lovers as a mysterious voice encourages an Iowa farmer to build a baseball diamond in his cornfield, where a ghostly team of legends comes out to play.
9. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Directed by Joaquin Dos Santos, this 2023 superhero movie is an animated take on the Spider-Man
universe. With a running time of 140 minutes, it has an 8.5/10 rating on IMDb.

Starring Hailee Steinfeld, Shameik Moore, and others, it sees Miles Morales meet a new team of Spider-People, made up of heroes from different dimensions as he travels across the multiverse.
10. Life or Something Like It
The final name on the list is Life or Something Like It
, a 2002 romantic comedy starring Angelina Jolie. Directed by Stephen Herek, it has a running time of 103 minutes.

A lesser-known Angelina Jolie movie it sees a reporter interviewing a psychic, who tells her that she is going to die and her life is meaningless, and has a 5.8/10 rating on IMDb.
